![]() Q & A on video #1 – What is the greatest challenge i’ve had to overcome in life? One of you commented on one of the other vids that in Madonna’s movie I was the quiet one. I suppose in my twenties that had a little truth to it, but moreso because the language I’ve spoken that the world has seen has been the language of dance. I found myself really enjoying responding to these questions. Maybe because it’s nice to be heard, share myself or just connect with new people. Or maybe because it reminds me how fortunate I’ve been or just noting that others are impacted by what I do or say. Not in the sense of self-importance, but just that we can make a difference for others in our lives. My cousin Greg says I’m afflicted with Michigan modesty lol. Meaning I’m constantly humbling myself i guess. Having all these pages up with my pix and videos and sort of hyping *THE kevin Stea* is both fun and fascinating to me, but also a bit uncomfortable! I LOVE that people enjoy my work and the things I create, but some part of me wants to just set it over on the table and watch unobserved as looky-loos walk by and flip thru the pages. In this new world where people become stars for doing nothing other than being socially maladjusted, or by simply believing their own hype, pushing oneself out there and being unapologetic for ones belief in oneself is really the only way to be heard. At least in the beginning. Once people are listening you can speak quietly and still be heard and understood…. Maybe eventually I’ll just be breathing and whispering in your ear. I think I like being heard that way the best The hysterical conflict of that is that the more one is heard, the more difficult it becomes to listen through all the voices coming back! We should all have 500 ears and one mouth, we’d live in a happier world… And music would sound AWESOME. SO, I will not be apologizing for my posts or the quantity of them… But I will be listening for feedback. If someone can’t handle the idea that I’m trying to share myself and create a space to have a dialogue with others… Well, they are the ones that should listen the most. This is new ground for me and love input and reactions, and appreciate forwards, referrals, shares and retweets. Honestly, part of that is a little voice saying ‘is this ok? Do people get me? Do I have value? Do I look like an idiot?’, but mostly it’s that I relish the opportunity to connect with you and you and you and have a f***in awesome conversation. Prince said ‘not to swear’ last night, so I’ll start with asterisks Welcome again, thanks for stopping by. Feel free to ask me other questions not related to my career! I’m going to repost these in order…. 2 Responses to “Q & A on video #1 – What is the greatest challenge i’ve had to overcome in life?”Leave a Reply |

Hello Kevin…
I really enjoy these Q & A videos that you do – thank you for taking the time to make them.
My question for you is – Have you ever seen Julie Brown’s spoof called “Medusa: Dare To Be Truthful” – if you have – did you enjoy it and what are your thoughts on the way she protrayed Madonna and the dancers?
