![]() Q & A on video #11 – Did we know Showgirls was a comedy while making it?there’s so much to say about showgirls. it was not an easy movie to shoot, the hours were brutal…and 4am body painting all the way down to the taint was… interesting. who would have thought ‘spread your legs, bend over and spread your cheeks’ would be a morning ritual on any other set but a porn. good morning giant cold wet makeup sponge! by the time we were slathered in makeup, be-wigged, bejewelled and be-glitter-strip-ed , we were pretty close to the jaded dancers we were portraying. i dont think most of the dancers actually had scripts, or had read it! i was playing darryl, so i had one, but the truth of the story being told had to be done with the director! i think paul enjoyed the indulgent dirtiness and camp.. just watch Starship Troopers. i took David Lachappelle to the NY premiere and had a look on my face reminiscent of most of my looks in Truth or Dare… surprise and shock verging on laughter and happy horror. x-rated ny talk show host Robyn Byrd loudly walked out with her entourage during the rape scene. david and i just kept looking at eachother and laughing the whole walk home. long live the GODDESS!! i love you elizabeth, i know you want to forget it, but you survived… trial by fire! xo 4 Responses to “Q & A on video #11 – Did we know Showgirls was a comedy while making it?”Leave a Reply |

I’m sorry! This movie was AMAZING! “It’s amazing what paint and a surgeon can do….”

That movie is a classic that will live on forever, no matter what critics may say.

Yes! It was a blast …and we laughed the whole time saying “that’s not what dancers do – but sure is fun!”
